Currency Amount Unit Specification

1. Overview

To ensure accurate payment processing and prevent transaction amount discrepancies, our payment system validates all transaction amounts according to the standard currency unit rules of each supported currency.

Merchants must submit transaction amounts using the correct currency minor unit (also known as the smallest currency unit) defined for the selected currency.

If the submitted amount does not comply with the currency's minor unit rules, the transaction request may fail during amount validation.

2. Currency Minor Unit Rules

When creating a payment request, merchants must ensure that:

The transaction amount follows the decimal precision defined for the currency.

The amount does not contain unsupported decimal places.

For example:

JPY does not have a fractional currency unit. Therefore, transaction amounts must be submitted as whole numbers.
✅ Accepted:

amount = 100
currency = JPY

❌ Rejected:

amount = 100.01
currency = JPY

The value 100.01 JPY cannot be represented in the smallest unit of JPY and will fail currency amount validation.

3. Currency - Minimum Auxiliary Unit Conversion Table

Each currency has a defined number of decimal places that determine its smallest supported unit.

The minor unit is represented as:

Minimum currency unit = 10⁻ⁿ

Where:

n represents the number of decimal places supported by the currency.

The transaction amount must not contain more decimal places than the defined minor unit.
